​Meet Moises Olmos, the creator of EHRO. He has owned a video production company for a number of years. The search for an idea or product to protect his equipment was constant, but the available solutions in the market were complicated and required a long assembly time; he needed something that was quick and easy to use and allowed him to work independently.
“To manage my needs, I started using a piece of pvc pipe and a mic holder. With this quick homemade gizmo I was able to place an umbrella and be protected from the sun and rain.” Olmos says, “Not long after I tried my invention, I was covering a breaking news story that required travel from one city to another within Colorado. I went off to the assignment with a sunny day and when I got to my final destination, there was a dense snowstorm. I tried to use the camera cover that I had to protect my equipment, but it was taking a lot of my time. After 20 minutes I decided to try my invention, which took me only 2 minutes to adapt, and just like that, I was protected from the snow. Other colleagues that relied on assistants to cover them and other complicated solutions, were curious about my product and began asking questions about it. ‘Genius’ is what they said! That night I went back home with the idea of protecting my invention. Two days later the product was registered with a patent pending, and EHRO Field Solutions was born.”
Olmos worked very diligently with a group of engineers on bringing the product to life, choosing the best design version and using only high quality materials. After 2 months we received the first EHRO prototype and it exceeded our expectations! We have hosted several focus groups and have presented EHRO to a number of people in the audiovisual industry. All of them agreed that this device is “amazing and unique” because it can be used for a number of solutions from protecting you from the elements with an umbrella to holding devices such as monitors, iPads, cell phones, portable teleprompter, etc. EHRO allows the freedom of working solo!
